The State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section (RPLS) Summer Conference was held July 17-20 at the Grand Traverse Resort. Hundreds of lawyers from across the state met at the annual conference to discuss significant legal issues and challenges facing their clients in real estate law.

This event provided an invaluable opportunity for Michigan attorneys to enhance their skills, stay updated on critical legal developments, and network with peers. The 2024 RPLS conference did not disappoint with engaging sessions covering affordable housing transactions, economic development incentives, eminent domain law, and the impact of artificial intelligence on law practice,

Hilger Hammond attorney Aileen Leipprandt was the Co-Chair of the conference this year. Aileen is also the Co-Chair of the RPLS Construction Committee and was re-appointed to the RPLS Council during the conference. Attorneys Ben Hammond, Jill Miller, Stacey Knowles and Ron Reynolds also attended the conference.
Ron Reynolds was recognized with the C. Robert Wartell Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to the RPLS over many years! Ron was Chair of the RPLS from 2013-2014 and has served in numerous capacities over the last 30 years. He currently serves as Chair of the Nominating Committee, and as a Co-Chair on the Sponsorship Committee and the Eminent Domain Committee.
